Nvidia has announced that it will now offer Nvidia Quadro FX 4800 for Apple Mac Pro systems, which was updated last month. Recently, Nvidia refreshed its Quadro graphics card
line up with seven graphics cards starting from sub-$100 price range.

Nvidia's Quadro FX 4800 for Mac graphics card is from the ultra-high end solution used for most graphics-intensive applications for pushing boundaries of realism, performance and quality. The Quadro FX 4800 features 192 CUDA parallel processor cores with 1.5GB GDDR3 using 384-bit memory interface to offer 76.8GB/sec of memory bandwidth.

For the Mac users, the new Quadro FX 4800 for Mac graphics card is equipped with an additional DVI-I port which makes a pair of dual link DVI ports. This is the only difference between the previously launched Quadro FX 4800 and Quadro FX 4800 for Mac. With the help of Quadro FX 4800 for Mac, Mac Pro users can hook up two Apple LED displays to the Mac Pro Systems.

We should note that this card is compatible with computer model machine identifiers MacPro 3,1 or MacPro 4,1 or higher. Older models MacPro 1,1 and MacPro 2,1 are not compatible with this card. Also, the users ought to be running Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard updated to 10.5.7 version.

There's a price difference of $230 (Rs. 11,600 approx.) between the regular Quadro FX 4800 and the one for Mac - all for one additional dual DVI-I port. Hopefully, the new Mac Pro systems
won't face any legendary display issues usually found over Apple systems with Nvidia cards.
